Frequently Asked Questions
Does Glu Sight work with Apple Health?
Yes. Glu Sight does not read directly from hardware. It only reads and writes through Apple Health.
- Your CGM, meter, or insulin device writes to Health via its own app; Glu Sight then reads that data from Health.
- What you log in Glu Sight also saves to Health.
- Glu Sight supports automatic import from these Apple Health–compatible devices:
- Accu-Chek® Connect
- Dexcom® G5, G6, G7
- InPen™ Smart Insulin Pen
- OneTouch Verio® Flex by Lifescan
- OneTouch Verio® Sync by Lifescan
- One Drop Chrome
- Sync runs in the background so your data stays current even when the app is closed.
Is my data private?
Yes.
- Your diabetes data stays on your device and in Apple Health.
- Glu Sight does not send it to its own servers or third parties.
- The app is funded by optional subscriptions, not by selling your data.
Your data is yours.
Do I need to track insulin?
No.
- During setup you choose what to track: glucose only, or glucose plus insulin and meal impact.
- If you use insulin, you can turn on optional therapy reminders.
- The app adapts and hides features you don't use.
What is Glu Sight Plus?
Glu Sight Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks:
- Personalized insights (time-of-day patterns, bolus response, post-meal highs)
- Therapy reminders
- Pattern heatmaps
- PDF and CSV export for care visits
- Full diary history
Core tracking and Health sync work without a subscription.
Can I use Glu Sight if I don't have a CGM?
Yes.
- You can enter glucose manually or read from Apple Health.
- Glu Sight never talks to devices directly—it only reads from Health.
- Any CGM, fingerstick meter, or insulin device that syncs to Apple Health (via its manufacturer's app) will show up in Glu Sight.
- During setup you choose whether you read from Health or log manually.
What units does Glu Sight support?
Glu Sight supports mg/dL and mmol/L for blood glucose, and kg or lb for weight. Set your preference in Settings; the app uses it everywhere.
Can I set glucose ranges recommended by my care team?
Yes. In Settings → Treatment you can set your target, high, low, very high, and very low thresholds.
These drive time-in-range, insights, and chart colors across the app—so you can use the values your doctor or diabetes educator recommends.
What devices does Glu Sight support?
- iPhone with iOS 17 or later
- Requires Apple Health (iPhone-only)
- No Android or web version
Does Glu Sight work offline?
Yes.
- Logging glucose and insulin, viewing trends, and using the diary work without internet.
- Sync happens on your device.
- You only need a connection to subscribe to Glu Sight Plus or restore purchases.
What are therapy reminders?
Therapy reminders (Glu Sight Plus) are local notifications tied to your insulin therapies.
- Schedule them daily, weekly, or monthly at specific times, or as one-off reminders.
- They help you stay on track with basal or bolus doses.
What are insights?
Insights (Glu Sight Plus) are pattern summaries from your glucose and insulin data. Examples:
- Recurring highs or lows at certain times of day
- Typical glucose change after bolus
- Post-meal high frequency
- Time-in-range achievements
A highlighted insight can appear on the Home screen; the full set is in the Reports tab.
What can I export?
With Glu Sight Plus you can export:
- PDF reports (summary, trends, patterns)—built for sharing with your care team
- CSV data—raw glucose and insulin entries for your own analysis
